Sometimes. But there are people who won't leave us alone.

Trust me, I get discouraged. Probably more than anybody realizes. But everybody I care about is in this town, and I wouldn't be able to live the 'normal' life I'd be leaving to find, knowing that everybody else is in the thick of all this. That's why I decided to stay. Who knows what would've happened if we'd all decided to just fuck it, you know? I know it seems hard to believe sometimes, but we could be a lot worse off.

Nobody wanted to be a superhero less than me. Well, except Vince, maybe. But when I saw you in danger, and Eddie...I might not want to save the world, but if there's something I can do to protect the people I love, I'm going to do it. Worst case scenario: I die. It's gonna happen eventually. I'd rather do it doing something useful than hide while all my friends are dying first.

	I wish you wouldn't talk about dying so casually. But I know you're right. It's just hard. People are following us, and we're making a secret lair. Casually? If I was casual about dying, I would've gone and become best buds with Roxy when she messaged me. I really, really don't want to die, and I'm doing all I can to, you know, not. But there are worse things, I think.

It is only a matter of time. And believe me, I'm scared shitless. So is everybody else. But I'm less scared knowing I'm going into this with people I trust, I guess.

	Nah. I plan on sticking around for a while, I can tell you that. I just don't see the point in worrying about it constantly when there are so many other things to think about. Stress leads to hypertension. I like to avoid it whenever possible. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
